Understand the basics of Med Sim App so you can use it with confidence
Everything in Med Sim App centers around a case, which is a collection of current vital signs and patient conditions. Each case is unique and identified by a five-letter case code. Anyone with this code can view and interact with the case from the student’s perspective. For example, students can view the case through their preferred cardiac monitor or ventilator interface. However, having the case code alone provides view-only access — meaning students can interact within their device’s interface, like delivering a shock, but those actions are recorded only in that device’s log and don’t change the overall case.
To control, adjust, or update a case, an Instructor PIN — a simple four-digit number — is required. With both the case code and Instructor PIN, instructors can modify cases from any web browser. All changes are made in real time. There’s no pre-programming or pre-loading next steps; the instructor actively adjusts the case to match student decisions and meet specific learning objectives as the scenario unfolds.
What makes Med Sim App stand out is its simplicity. Everything runs through a standard web browser — there’s no need to set up travel routers, connect devices to special networks, or call IT to open a port. Students simply enter the case code on their devices, while instructors manage updates from any device. It’s designed to be the easiest simulation tool to set up and start using, whether you’re in a classroom, simulation lab, or running a remote training session.
